WALT DISNEY WORLD - DAY 5

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

Today is my mom, Mickey's birthday. We hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Stella had a fantastic birthday.  We spent the morning at the Wild Kingdom Animal Park, went on an African Safari, rode a few rides, and capped off the afternoon by meeting one of her heros, the "Elvis" of this park system, Mickey Mouse!  We then headed back to the hotel for a swim in the pool and a nap.  Afterwards we got dressed for dinner and headed to the Magic Kingdom.  It was there we went inside "The Castle" and Stella got to meet Cinderella.  We then took the stairs to the 3rd floor and had dinner in her ballroom.  It was there she got to meet Cinderella's mice also recieved a birthday cupcake.  Later in the evening, The Fairy Godmother made an appearence.  This was the highlight of the evening for her because it was here she got to dance and sing to "Bibbity-bobbity-boo" with her and all the other kids!  She had a blast!

We then spent the remainder of the evening roaming the park re-riding other rides and such.

WALT DISNEY WORLD - DAY 4

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STELLA!!!

Today is our beloved daughter's 3rd birthday and we are doing it in style.  Tonight as a special treat, she will dine with Cinderella in her castle!

Yesterday was our "recharge" day and boy we needed it!  After a few hours at the Animal Kingdom park in the early afternoon, Stella began to get cranky due to the heat and exhaustion from running around like crazy these past four days.  So we decided to spend the day at the hotel.  We went swimming, then went to our room for what turned into a 3 hour nap.  Afterwards we went to our hotels animal sactuary to see the wild animals, ate dinner (as far as I know, our meat did not come from the animal sanctuary), headed upstairs to change into swim clothes, and did some night time swimming.  The rest was well needed and we are ready to hit the day running today!

Okay, see the picture to the left?  That is found in both the sink area and shower room of our hotel room.  In the background is a picture of Jiminy Crickett.  The text says:

"Every Little Bit Makes a Difference
Every day tons of detergents and millions of gallons of water are used to wash towels that have only been used one time.

Please Decide for Yourself
If you would like to reuse your towel, please hang it over the shower rod"

Their joking, right?  All the money we are shoveling into the almighty treasure trove of the Disney corperation and they have the nerve to lecture me?  Like I said to our friendly hotel housekeeper, Maria Conchita Alonza Rivera Burrito Conchito Bandito-Garcia (immigration status unknown):

"Dontcha worry 'bout how many towels we are using que-paso.  Just keep 'em coming and we will leave you with some rio grande deniros as a tip-o.  Comprende amigo?"

Video(s) of the Day:

WALT DISNEY WORLD - DAY 3

HAPPY 4th of JULY EVERYONE!

As I write this, Laura and Stella are trying to muster the energy to get out of bed so that we can "feed the animals" at the Animal Kingdom Park.

Yesterday was by far our busiest and most productive at the Magic Kingdom.  I mean, we rode the Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small World, The Flying Dumbo, The Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise...it was very productive.  Now, they have done something cool with Pirates of the Caribbean (PotC).  In a lot of the animatronic scenes in PotC, they have added Johnny Depps animatronic character of Captain Jack Sparrow.  Now, animatronics have come a very long way since the last time I have been here.  This "Captain Jack", looks so life-like, you would think that Disney is shelling out a million dollars a day to hire Mr. Depp himself to work in the park as Captain Jack Sparrow.  That was really cool.

Surprisingly, Stella's favorite ride so far has been the Haunted Mansion.  She loves yelling, "BOOOOO!!!" everytime she saw a ghost.

Time for breakfast.  Below is the video of the day:

The whole family riding Flying Dumbo.

Don't forget, new pictures are added to the Walt Disney World, July 2006 Photo Album daily!

WALT DISNEY WORLD - DAY 2

This is a quick one...we have breakfast reservations with Winnie the Pooh and his friends at 8:30am and are running late.  I will try to post later in the day.

WALT DISNEY ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE - 3:42PM

Everyone is pooped!  As I type this Stella and Laura are snoring hard for an afternoon nap.  Sorry about the small post earlier.  We had breakfast reservations with Winnie the Pooh and Friends at 8:30 this morning and we were running very late.  Since we got here we have just going, going, going so we need this little bit of rest.

I think I may have fixed the link on the web site to the Photo Gallery so give it a try.  Below are videos we took yesterday:

Stella drives the race car with daddy!
Yep, they are still doing that Country Bear Jamboree!

The link that takes you to the actual photo gallery on the right hand side is broken and I do not have the means to repair it here.  I will fix it when we get home.

Greetings from Walt Disney World, Orlando Florida! We are stying at the Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom Resort and it is by far one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in.  Our room is spacious and pleasant and the people here treat you as if the ghost of 'ol Walt is hovering over them.  All smiles and pleasantries all the time.  You cannot walk more than 10 feet in the lobby without a member of the staff greeting you with an abundant display of "zippidee-doo-da-ness"!

The drive here was about 10.5 hours (note to Sonny Purdue...I do not know if you cancelled road work this weekend due to the Tuesday holiday, but if so, let the knuckleheads down in south Georgia know!).  Stella overall did very well.  She only had 1 cranky breakdown and that lasted all of 30 minutes.

We got here, checked in our room, had dinner, and took the free shuttle to the Magic Kingdom (about 13 minutes).

Below is the video of our shuttle ride to the park:

We also took still photos.  CLICK ON THIS LINK TO VIEW THEM.  As I stated above, the link that takes you to the actual photo gallery for this page is broken and I do not have the means to repair it here.  I will fix it when we get home.

Time for breakfast now, check back tomorrow for another update!
